A lineup of four Iranian shorts has been scheduled to screen at the 2019 Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) in Japan.
Directed by Behrang Mirzaei, ‘A+’ is one of the titles that will be attending the Asia International & Japan competition section of the festival.
A brief synopsis of the 15-minute long film reads, “Not able to carry the heavy load of her groceries, a young woman asks a little boy to help her. This is the beginning for a story that brings together two totally strangers into each other’s personal lives.”
‘Cover’ directed by Vahid Alvandifar is the second title to attend the same section of the Japanese film event. The film shows how a simple worker’s dead body comes back to life. Being risen from the dead, Ahmad is now unwilling to go back to his accustomed life style.
Earlier reports by ifilm have also announced two other short animations being accepted to attend the film festival. The films are Ali Zare-Qanatnowi’s ‘Empty View’ and ‘Mr. Deer’ directed by Mojtaba Mousavi.
The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia is accredited by the Academy Awards and is one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia, according to the official website of the event.
The program aims “to introduce people with various backgrounds and share their lives and emotions to spread the importance of giving a hand to people around you, and realize how wonderful and grateful we are to live in peace,” the website of the festival reads.
Established in 1999, the SSFF & ASIA takes place in Tokyo, in June every year.
